Table Service Restaurants

One of the highlights of Disney is the awesome food! And the with the Disney Dining Plan, you pay 1 flat fee and you don't have to worry about the cost. You get an Entrée, Dessert, and non-alcoholic drink included in the plan and believe me - you will have trouble eating it all. There are other dining plan packages but this is our personal favorite.

Since 2010, we have purchased the Disney Dining Plan that includes (per person, per night)  - a snack, a quick service meal, and a table service meal. With our eating habits, this works out best for us. Typically, we will use the snack on breakfast. We love their cinnamon rolls and cupcakes so we will use snack credits for those and pay for our drinks instead of using dining credits. Then we use the quick service at lunch and save the table service for supper. I can also help you figure out which plan fits your family best.

*MOST IMPORTANT DINING TIP* Book your restaurant reservations 6 months in advance. The second that Disney allows you to start booking you dining reservations - BOOK IT! If you don't, you may miss out on some of the best food of your life.

Amanda's Top 5 Table Service Restaurant Rankings
# 1 - Be Our Guest
# 2 - 'Ohana
# 3 - Mama Melrose
# 4 - Whispering Canyons Café
# 5 - 50's Prime Time Café

*Please keep in mind this only reflects my opinion from my experience. This may vary according to what you order. Also, these are only the restaurants I have had the privilege of dining at, I hope for the opportunity to try many other Disney Table Service Restaurants in the future.

Be Our Guest - located at Magic Kingdom - Fantasyland
This has got to be the BEST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER! Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the Imagineers did a spectacular job in capturing every detail of the Beast's castle and bringing it to life. We were seated in the forbidden West Wing which includes the rose and the painting that the Beast destroyed. It also includes a thunderstorm every 5 minutes. I personally LOVED it, but I don't recommend sitting in that dining area if you have little ones. There are 3 dining areas to choose from. The Ballroom is very magical - you can even see it snowing outside year round. The third dining area is the dining room Belle was taken to during the "Be Our Guest" song. And to make things even more magical - your host (The Beast) - is also there (but not guaranteed).

'Ohana - located at Disney's Polynesian Resort
We normally try to dine at restaurants we have never been to so we can experience them all - but this restaurant has been a repeat for us every year. It has to be the best food EVER. It's all you can eat. The waiters continuously bring out skewers of chicken, steak, shrimp, and pork. On top of that, the appetizers they bring out before your food is fabulous. I especially love the chicken wings. Then of course - try to save room for dessert. I struggle with putting this in the #2 spot - it's really tied for 1st.

Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano- located at Hollywood Studios
LOVED IT! My husband and mom loved the steak and I enjoyed my 4 cheese flatbread. We have also been to this restaurant more than once and that says a lot when you have so many choices. I also liked the Penne with cheese sauce and for dessert, the chocolate cannoli cake.

Whispering Canyon Café - located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
One of our absolute favorites! Not only do you get to see the beautiful Wilderness Lodge, but the dining is fun and so so good. Home style cooking - I've had the pot roast and the Grilled New York Strip Steak. And for dessert...the Campfire Style Gooey Cake.  It was amazing. Tasted like something your grandma would cook. They have fun little quirks at this restaurant. I don't want to spoil it for you, but be sure you are in a great mood with a young heart when you visit.

50's Prime Time Café - located at Hollywood Studios
AWESOME experience and food. The fried chicken and peanut butter shakes are enough to keep me there forever. There was no way to finish all that was on my plate but boy was it yummy!

Le Cellier Steakhouse -  located at Epcot in "Canada"
We both ordered steak. The bread was awesome. The steak was good. I wish I had started this blog sooner so I could remember what we had for dessert, but I do remember it was good.  At the time it only used 1 dining credit, but now it uses 2 :(\

Other Table Service Dining We Have Ate At :
2009-
Planet Hollywood - located at Downtown Disney
Due to the voucher they give you, we have eaten here multiple times and it is always a pleasant experience. I enjoy looking at movie memorabilia while I wait on my food. I always get the fried lasagna and my husband always gets the ribs. Love the atmosphere!

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant- located at Hollywood Studios
Very cool restaurant and usually easy to get in. The set up is amazing with "cars" for your table and chairs. Plus - a real screen to watch while you dine. I had the grilled chicken and my husband had a steak. Very good.

2010-
Boatwright's Dining Hall - located at Port Orleans Riverside Resort
If you are expecting/wanting cajun food - it's not - or wasn't then. We were disappointed.

Trail's End Restaurant - located at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
This is an adorable little buffet at (literally) the trail's end of this resort. It's cowboy style eating with ribs and fried chicken and everything that goes along with it. Apparently, it's a little secret because not many were there so we had a nice quiet meal. Everything was absolutely delicious.

2011-
Coral Reef Restaurant - Epcot by the Living Seas
We did not have good luck here - food wise. But I'm thinking they must have been having a bad night. Everyone else I know, liked it here.
For the rest of our 2011 dining experiences, please see the Character Dining link.

2011 Trip # 2 of 2
Maya Grill - located at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
Did not have good luck here either, but heard other reviews that say it is "ok".

Tony's Town Square Restaurant - located at Magic Kingdom
This is the restaurant Lady and the Tramp dined at - they even have their own table :) - SO CUTE!
I don't remember being blown away by the food - but chefs and menus change frequently and this is one I want to try again.

Nine Dragons Restaurant - located at Epcot - "China"
Chinese Food - but I was not a big fan.

Wolfgang Puck Café - located at Downtown Disney
I remember the food being "ok" here, but  I have heard more recent reviews that list this as a favorite, so I have this on my list to try again.

2012  -
Hollywood & Vine - located at Hollywood Studios
At this time, it was just a medocre buffet. Since then they have changed it to be a seasonal character dining experience. The reviews I've heard are good - so here is another one to add to the list to try again.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant - located at Animal Kingdom
A friend of mine had raved about the burgers at this restaurant. I had the sweet and sour chicken. My husband and I both enjoyed this restaurant and would eat there again.

Rainforest Café - located at Downtown Disney (they also have a location at Animal Kingdom)
I have trouble remembering what I ordered for dinner because the dessert blew my mind! The Volcano is a must on the dessert menu. Best dessert I have ever had. I had pasta and my husband had ribs.

2014
Olivia's Cafe - located at Disney's Old Key West Resort
This restaurant is a hidden gem at Disney. I almost hate to post this because the lack of crowd made it a very peaceful experience. The food was great and we enjoyed dining on the "porch". I had the pot roast with cheesy potatoes and cheesecake for dessert. My mom had the "Build Your Own" sundae. All were delicious!

Teppan Edo - located in "Japan" at Epcot
This is your typical hibachi grill. I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was cooked to perfection :)

2015
Chefs de France - located in "France" at Epcot
My husband and I had very different experiences at this restaurant (and yes, we were dining at the same time lol). He had the Grilled Tenderloin of Beef as well as the Lobster Bisque that came with my meal (as I am allergic to seafood). I had the Gratin de Macaroni. For dessert, I ordered the Creme Brulee and he had a chocolate mouse with pound cake. He raved about his steak, while I was disappointed with my pasta. The cheese had cooled off and "hardened", so it was difficult to eat and of course that caused the taste to not to be as good as what I thought it should have been. All in all, it was not a bad meal for me - just not as good as I have had before.

The Turf Club Bar & Grill - located at Saratoga Springs Resort (a short walk or boat ride from Disney Springs)
Jason ordered the Prime Rib and I ordered the Crispy Free Range Chicken Breast with fingerling potatoes, and three-cheese macaroni and cheese. For dessert he ordered the bread pudding and I had the cheesecake. This place is worth coming to for the three-cheese macaroni and cheese ALONE! What Chefs de France was missing - this made up for. I don't know what they did to it, but I would go back just for it. Everything else was good as well, but nothing I was highly recommend or come back for like the mac-n-cheese. And I know that may seem crazy, but you need to try it. There was not a speck of food left in the "boat".

T-Rex - located at Disney Springs Marketplace
Alot like Rainforest Cafe, but with a dinosaur theme. The menu has a lot of options to choose from and it is a lively, loud place to eat. There is a "meteor shower" every so many minutes that cause the dinosaurs to come alive, so beware if your little ones are skiddish.
Jason had the Boneyard Buffet, which consisted of rotisserie chicken and ribs. He liked one better than the other, but we can't remember which one it was...we think the ribs. I ordered the lasagna. It was more sauce than cheese and I prefer the other way around, but that is all up to preference. Then we ordered the Ice Age Indulgence for 2 for dessert. It was an ice cream sandwich dessert, which was good.

Captain's Grille - located at the Yacht Club Resort (short boat ride away from back entrance of Epcot or Hollywood Studios)
I was not a fan of this restaurant. It was on a higher scale and I'm a simple, country girl, so sometimes the food is beyond me. The waitress we had was not magical either and could not understand that I wanted my chicken plain with no sauce. So, just not a good experience. Jason ordered the New York Strip and I ordered the Pan-Seared Chicken. I had to beg them to let me substitute the side for "chips". For dessert, I had the cheesecake with gelato and he had the S'Mores Chocolate Tart. The tart was REALLY good and I remember wishing I had ordered that instead.

Can you find the hidden Mickey's?
