Character Dining

*IMPORTANT TRAVEL TIP* - Meeting characters (especially if you have little ones) is so much easier at a character dining experience than standing in line for them individually. If you can find them in a restaurant - BOOK IT!

All of the Character Dining Experiences I have had - have included a buffet. They have your typical buffet food - except a lot more choices and with a Disney flair. So I won't go into much detail about the food at each of them since they were all (but 1) similar - I will mainly focus on the experience.

Amanda's Character Dining Rankings
# 1 - 1900 Park Fare
# 2 - Garden Grill
# 3 - Chef Mickey's
# 4 - The Crystal Palace

*Please keep in mind this only reflects my opinion from my experience. This may vary when vacationing at different times of the year as well as what you choose to eat. Also, these are only the Character Dining Experiences I have had the opportunity to eat at, I hope for the opportunity to try many other Character Dining Experiences in the future.

2010 -
The Crystal Palace (A Buffet with Character) - located on Main Street USA - Magic Kingdom
This restaurant is where all of the Winnie-the-Pooh characters hide out - and with an awesome view of Cinderella's Castle. I love the fact that while you wait on your food (and while you are eating), character's come around to spend time with you and make for easy photo opportunities. Be sure to tell them what you are celebrating :) They really go all out! This year we celebrated our 9th Wedding Anniversary and my undergrad college graduation.

2011-
Chef Mickey's - located at Disney's Contemporary Resort
Again - always celebrate something and let them know what it is. This year we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. They make it really special for you. This restaurant houses Mickey Mouse & Friends.

Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare - located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

This has to be one of the best kept Disney Secret's. I have been a huge Cinderella fan since I was a little girl and this has me in awe as an adult. They announce Cinderella and Prince Charming have arrived and they come into the ball room and dance. It is absolutely beautiful. I can't imagine if I had been a little girl and had this experience. I loved it!

2012-
Chip 'N' Dale's Harvest Feast at the Garden Grill - located in Epcot
This character dining had the best food of all of the character dining. Chip and Dale were there and I was surprised to see Mickey and his gang as well. We had a lot of fun at this restaurant. It's not a buffet. They bring samples to your table. You see what you like and order more. There is no limit and that is awesome.
