Snacks

Disney snacks are SUPURB! From the cinnamon rolls to the cupcakes to the fudge to the covered pecans......ok just know........they are ALL magically wonderful! My #1 tip on the dining plan is to NEVER waste a snack credit on a drink. You will get more for your money if you pay for your drink and use the credit on food items.

Amanda's Top 5 Disney Snack Rankings
# 1 - Starring Rolls Café
# 2 - Goofy's Candy Company/Main Street Confectionery
# 3 - Beaches & Cream Soda Shop
# 4 - Anandapur Ice Cream Truck
# 5 - all carts that have the covered pecans

*Disney Springs  has added several new places I need to do "research" on when I visit. If pictures do the taste justice - my top 5 will change drastically*

Like I said...all the snacks are amazing but when I think about where I HAVE to go each visit or my vacation would not be complete.....these are a MUST :

Starring Rolls Café - located at Hollywood Studios
First of all - you should know I LOVE cupcakes. But this place does not make ordinary cupcakes.....noooooooo they make the kind of cupcakes that are chocolate with peanut butter in the middle and on top with chocolate shavings. Yes - MAGICAL cupcakes. I have to eat one for breakfast here (hey! I'm on vacation!) the morning we are at Hollywood Studios. They also have an assortment of pastries that my husband really likes. If you love sweets - you can NOT miss this! If you are cupcake fan like I am - make this # 1 on your list.

Fudge Marble
Peanut Butter Fudge

Red Velvet

Goofy's Candy Co. - located at Downtown Disney Marketplace Side
Main Street Confectionery - located at Magic Kingdom
These 2 are almost identical in their offerings - so I tied them for 2nd
Next to Starring Rolls Café, these places have the 2nd best cupcakes. But they are delicious. But this place doesn't stop for me at the cupcakes - you can get anything imaginable there. Ever wish there was more banana flavored candy in your Runts box? Here you can get a whole bag of nothing BUT banana if you want. Same goes with Jelly Beans. This place is CRAZY! You can make your own mix of any type of candy and pay by the pound. They also have fudge, candy apples coated and topped to your liking with anything imaginable. It's just a Magical Sugar Overload of Goodness!

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop - located at Disney's Beach Club Resort
You can eat here for a table service meal (I have yet to try that). But if you would like a quick yummy snack while overlooking one of the most beautiful resorts on the Disney property, stop by the to-go window at Beaches & Cream. It has a "diner" feel with every sort of sundae you can imagine. Being the peanut butter lover that I am, I tried the No Way Jose. There is no way I could eat it all. Next time I think I'll try a smaller version of the same thing. But it sure was delicious!

Anandapur Ice Cream Truck - located at Animal Kingdom
I am usually so full that I don't add extra snacks to my day - but this is so good - you have to. If you are walking the trail from Africa to Asia....right when you get into Asia is a little ice cream truck that is not highly advertised. You barely can find it on the map - but to me it's a best kept Disney secret. They have the BEST soft serve chocolate ice cream I have ever tasted and I have to get a waffle cone of it every time. It's a must do and AMAZING!

Coated Pecan Carts - Magic Kingdom Adventure Land / Epcot on your way to Soarin'
There are several of these carts and I don't know the names nor are they labeled on the map - but you can smell them every where you go. I always get what I think it cinnamon sugar coated pecans - but they also have cashews and almonds as well. If you can find them warm - you are in for a real treat. I always try to take some home too. Another must do snack on the go at Disney!

Other Mentionables and Examples:

Gaston's Tavern - located at Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland
Cinnamon Rolls that also have a hint of honeybun flavoring to them. They are supposed to be identical to the ones that used to be at Main Street Bakery. I have given them about 3 tries and they just don't have the warm gooey-ness with glaze going everywhere the Main Street had. I just do not like them as well. I have heard others say they are the same. I can say that I am not there when they first open in the morning, but I wasn't at Main Street Bakery either. So, I don't know if that makes a difference here or not. However, I think the Imagineers did a WONDERFUL job with the decor. It really does look like the movie.

End Zone Food Court - Disney's All-Star Sports Resort
I am showing this ONLY to show you an example of what you can use a snack credit on at a value resort. Pictured here is a cream cheese danish and a vanilla cupcake. This is typically what we will do if eating breakfast at our resort. These are nothing to brag about or make a special trip for, but not bad either.
